I know it's been around for a long while now but it was just recently that I joined the lomo bandwagon. Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography capturing everyday life using film. Lomography is casual, fun, quirky, and maybe a bit weird. Colors are over-saturated colors, photos have off-kilter exposure, a bit blurred here and there... "happy accidents" they call it.
Lomo cameras have simple controls. My first lomo camera is a Diana Mini, a small toy-looking camera which takes square and half frame photos on 35mm film. I got it because I wanted something not so expensive and small enough to bring everyday. But then I realized I wanted more functionalities so I sold my Mini to my sister and got myself an LC-A+. :)
I still have a lot to learn but here's a few of what I have so far, from my first two rolls (these are still using Diana Mini, the LC-A is still on its way):
My lomo love has its highs and lows -- the cost of using film, getting crappy results, and snapping films makes lomography a bit frustrating. But together with the crappy ones I get pretty cool pics so its been worth it so far :) I just need to be more careful with the shots I take. And need to find a cheaper film developer. And cheaper films!!!
