You can be afraid...

You can be afraid of many things --
Of strangers in a new place,
of a different language
of a foreign culture.

You can be afraid of fitting in,
Or of coming back.
Of leaving your family, your friends.
and of course, your dog.

But never --
Of what I would say.

Because you can BE afraid.
But you'd never be weak.
You can even fail --
But you can never lose.

And you CAN stay.
If that's what your heart says.

Because in MY heart,
You're a man of character.
Of commendable values,
Which I deeply respect.

And I can never be more proud,
To be by your side.
